Born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio, Sharon is known for her love of high heels, good wine, summertime, football, and geeking out over science fiction/fantasy movies. Thanks to an upbringing that involved long, hard hours of farming with a strong core family, a love of learning, a gravitation toward science, and a lifelong suffering in being a Bengals fan, she’s embraced an energetic work ethic, tenacious persistence, compassion, open-mindedness, a high standard for integrity, loyalty and the pursuit of truth, a dedication to irreverence and sarcasm, a soft spot for underdogs, and a positive outlook while striving to inspire, engage, and motivate others to be their best.
A former research scientist, she left her career studying ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease) to raise her two independent, sassy, humorous kids with her soulmate and ended up finding a new passion in serving the community through owning and operating MyMountainTown.com, a website designed to connect the mountain area’s businesses, nonprofits, and community members so they can share information, news, and events to help inform one another and make our community thrive.
She volunteers her time serving as:
– Vice President, Friends of Staunton State Park Board of Directors
– Leadership Evergreen Advisory Board of Directors
– Member, Conifer Area Chamber of Commerce’s 285 Tourism and Marketing
– Elk Creek Fire Protection District Community Wildfire Protection Plan
Revision Committee Member
She is a graduate of the Leadership Evergreen Class of 2013 and previously been nominated 2014 Leader of the Year and chosen 2014-2015 Conifer Chamber Ambassador of the Year.
If she can be pried away from the computer, you’ll find her hanging with friends at a Chamber function, gardening, or sitting on her deck with a book and a glass of wine while enjoying the sunshine, some good music, and the sounds of her kids doing chores!
